Established in 1921 in Paris, France, CIGRE is a global community committed to the collaborative development and sharing of power system expertise.
We have been a driving force in the advancement of knowledge and technological innovation in the field of electric power systems.
Over the last 100 years, CIGRE has contributed valuable work to many of the key technical cornerstones of the modern power system. CIGRE’s renowned publications are developed through the rigorous collaborations and sharing of real-world experiences in power systems. These are, in many cases, the authoritative source of reference information.
CIGRE brings together the key players in the electric power systems sector. Our network is made up of business leaders, system operators, manufacturers, engineers, policy makers, regulators, academics, and many others. We have over 1250 member organisations, including some of the world’s leading experts. At its heart are CIGRE’s 59 in-country National Committees offering diverse technical perspectives and expertise from every corner of the globe.
Today, our network extends to more than 90 countries worldwide. As a result, we benefit from the experience and expertise that springs from the research and practice in each of these countries.
And, in turn, we bring this wealth of information back to our members through our working groups, conferences, technical papers and reports.
