Udaya Annakkage received the B.Sc. (Eng.) degree from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, in 1982 and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), Manchester, U.K. in 1984 and 1987, respectively. He has more than 25 years of experience as an academic.

Udaya is presently a Professor at the University of Manitoba, Canada. His research expertise is in the area of Power System Dynamics and Control. His services include Head of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Manitoba (2008-2012), and Editor of IEEE Transactions on Power Systems (2009-2012).

Udaya is a Professional Engineer in the Province of Manitoba, Canada.
